Advancing Stability and Growth at VCCCD
Since being elected to the Ventura County Community College District Board of Trustees in 2022, Lou Lichtl has focused on strengthening professional standards and Board protocols while providing responsible fiscal oversight of the District’s budget development and financial health.
He has worked to promote transparency, accountability, and adherence to Board policies and established procedures, ensuring the Board operates effectively and in the best interests of students, employees, and the communities it serves.

Helped update and manage official board policies, making sure every action followed the right protocols and stayed on track.

Kept the organization financially healthy by pushing for smart spending and making sure there was always enough money in the reserves.

Led the board through a successful accreditation process, getting things back on track after previous board members had ignored the rules and put our status at risk.

Guided the board through several difficult hiring and firing decisions, ensuring everything was handled professionally and by the book.
