Maintaining accountability and transparency in the decision-making process.
The needs and success of our students must remain our top priority. An effective and accountable Board of Trustees must listen to the community, consider diverse perspectives, and make informed decisions with transparency, professionalism, and integrity.
As your incumbent Trustee, I bring more than 40 years of experience in education and school administration, including my service as a Title IX Compliance Officer for the Conejo Valley Unified School District. In that role, I addressed a wide range of complaints and provided annual training and resources to approximately 1,200 faculty and staff on Title IX, sexual harassment, bullying, harassment, and the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. My work focused on communicating clear expectations, ensuring compliance, and promoting a professional and respectful educational environment.
I have also applied that experience to my service on the VCCCD Board by helping maintain and update Board Policies and Administrative Regulations addressing student rights, instructional matters, employee responsibilities, and other critical areas of District governance.
“I believe strong governance begins with putting students first, following established policies and legal requirements, listening to our community, and holding ourselves accountable for the decisions we, as the elected Board of Trustees, make.”
